Quite agree Marigold. If she's a "keen gardener she should know that Mare's Tail is one of the weeds that are extremely difficult to eradicate.

Re: nature notes

Manx is the other language in that group whereas Welsh, Cornish and Breton form the other Celtic language group.

Re: Cheery Pics

Oh dear, poor girl. I hope she appreciates all your efforts, Margaid. How did she do it? No idea. She came in limping and putting the back of her paw to the ground, rather like us going on hands and knees using the back of the hand. She is fairly good but I do get her out to lie on my bed - there's...

Re: Cheery Pics

Lucky you! She's beautiful. I'm not going anywhere at the moment as one of y cats has damaged a ligament in her "wrist" so is on 6 weeks cage rest. Two cages end to end have given her en-suite accommodation but I need to check to make sure she hasn't got her splint caught up somehow and it's going t...

Normal singing was OK. I didn't realise I could imitate the pre-fight warning and fighting snarls so well!

Re: Cheery Pics

The only interest my cats show in technology is walking across or sitting on the keyboard. Occasionally one of them will react if they hear a cat meow on screen. The funniest thing was with my previous cats: I was sorting through some music when I cam across my copy of Rossini's Cat Duet - the "libr...

Re: Weather

The, almost criminal, point is that while we the consumers are exhorted to save water and use it wisely millions of gallons are lost through leaks in the system. Dividends are paid to shareholders instead of the money being used to repair/upgrade the pipe system. I envy you LadyA as I don't have any...

Re: Weather

That's the problem - the rainfall and water isn't where the consumers are. Overcast her again and it rained overnight enough to collect about 80 litres in one of my water butts.

Re: Weather

I've started using a bucket to save the water that runs from the kitchen tap before it gets hot enough to use. I have a combination boiler and the kitchen taps is at the end of the pipe run! It's usually the best part of four-five litres so that gets tipped into the butt for the dehumidifier. The li...
