Re: Geese and winter feeding

Hi :) sounds like they are very well cared for geese :) The grass doesn't have as much nutrition in the winter so I would say any time from now to switch to the goose maintenance pellet. Saying that, mine never have pelleted feed, just grass and whole wheat and the flock have thrived for 50 years th...

Re: geese - flight feathers/flight

Hiya, I hope your goose is doing well! What type of goose is she? many domestic breeds cant really fly at all even with a full set of flight feathers :)

Re: Ducky Dilema

Hiya, oh you poor thing, I can really empathise as have been in this situation many times! If you want to persevere I would give it until October or until they moult. If you still feel you need to re home then your best bet is to rehome just Jemima. Your group of three siblings should get on ok. Mos...

Re: Need a drake

Hi :) Well you don’t get many posts asking for drakes! You should be able to find one very easily at this time of year as most people are looking to rehome drakes! You don’t give a location. Where are you and what set up do you have? In the meantime have you looked at the rspca as they often have dr...

Re: Ducky Dilema

Sounds like they are lucky ducks to have you! If Jemima seems happy enough then try a reintroduction in the autumn and see how it goes. Spring is the worst time to introduce newbies to an establishment listed group. I have the same here with two runners I just took on! I feel your heartache!

Re: Ducky Dilema

Hi, you poor thing, this happened to me too. If you have a little group that have grown up together often it doesn’t matter what the M/f ratio is and they can all live quite happily for the majority of the time. So many people advise that you MUST have at least one if not two girls to every drake. H...
