Re: Finding a new hen house
Even if you did get red mite in a Green Frog it would be very easy to deal with as the whole thing comes apart for cleaning, so nowhere for them to hide!

Re: For Sale - Green Frog Hen House in Exeter, Devon
I have a large wooden hen house with attached covered run and the Green Frog is in another covered run that isn't used anymore and I've decided that I probably won't get any more hens when these have gone. I was just keeping it in case I did get any and then could use the second run and frog as quar...

Re: Swollen, red, wrinkly face????
I did wonder whether it was a sting, but I would have thought it would be more localised and just a swelling rather than being bright red all over. Not sure though.

Swollen, red, wrinkly face????
Hi everyone, just a quick question to ask whether anyone might know what could be wrong with my Potty Dotty! She has just stopped being broody () and has now started moulting strangely! But I noticed yesterday that one side of her face was a bit puffy. The whole of her fleshy area around her ...

Re: Strange eggs being laid by one hen!!
Hi Marigold, I've had a look at the thread you mentioned and yes, they are very similar to the example laid by hens with possible IB, so that looks like it could be the reason. Interesting how she hasn't shown any symptoms ever, yet the one who is the worst affected and is always sneezing, coughing ...

Strange eggs being laid by one hen!!
I am getting the strangest eggs being laid by just one hen, a red Sussex. She has laid normal eggs before and is about 18 months old. They are larger than she normally lays, have what looks like raised vein patterns all over the shell and there doesn't seem to be a membrane between the shell and the...
