Hello again ?

Happy New Year everyone. Hope all of you are ok and surviving these terrible storms. It's really bad in Nottinghamshire tonight!
I've been working full time since 2020, so not had much spare time, I usually walk 5-7 miles a night. Sadly I now have a poorly knee, so off for an MRI tomorrow. I've been meaning to pop back into the forum. ?
Anyway, all my original girls have died of age, except Miss Muffet which I believe I told you that a bird of prey killed her. I now have a covered run.
I have another bluebell who lays blue eggs? 2 x barnevelder's, one is a bantam size, plus a lovely vorwerk x aracauna. I got those two today.
I still love chickens.
Roll on lighter nights and Springtime ?

Happy New Year, hope the MRI goes ok. Nothing worse than a bad knee.

We escaped pretty lightly with Isha here in Essex, the wind gusts started about 6pm -2am. 58mph was the strongest forecast with the rest 40-45. Still pretty scary though. with the wind screaming around the house. We didn't get any rain either

Luckily nothing amiss this morning thankfully

Our Bluebells laid pale brown eggs with little lavender spots which quickly faded. They were certainly characters though

It's been very windy, I hope it settles. I was looking outside and thought to myself I hope next doors 50 foot eucalyptus tree falls on my conservatory and then I can make a claim and get a new one ? I don't think it would reach though. Hee hee.
No rain today in Notts.
I had two bluebells, one laid cream eggs and this one lays a pale bluish green, or as Laura Ashley would say, Eau de Nil. Calm natured, both.

Welcome back Tweetypie. I hope your MRI went well- it might be noisy but at least it doesn't hurt...

During the last storm we had a very near miss. I got up the next morning to find a 10' tall piece of tree lying next to my husband's car on the drive, but not a mark on the car!

Our neighbour had a eucalyptus tree close to our fence. It grew at a steady rate for years until its roots found our septic tank. After that, it shot up like a giant redwood!!

That was a near miss, someone was looking out for you there.

There is a property up a neighbouring road that has eucalyptus trees and they seem to lose a branch every time there is a storm I have noticed
